The engagement with other hospitals embodies Gaslini Institute's vision, which aims to combine excellent healthcare pathways, research innovation, education, and training programs dedicated to the new generations.
This approach guides the operational activities of all personnel towards continuous improvement and characterizes the constellation of the Institute's values; all operational units are integrated into a network of relationships for the thematic areas relevant to their specialty discipline.
The Institute's Strategic Direction is committed to supporting international collaboration programs that promote Gaslini's visibility, enhance its reputation, and contribute to attracting patients from abroad.
The primary objectives are:
- Developing a relationship system for the implementation of specific projects, research, the development of new knowledge, new technologies, organizational models aimed at improving the quality of care and patient safety.
- Providing care opportunities for children living in developing countries or post-conflict areas and, concurrently, promoting training initiatives for healthcare personnel in those countries.
- Meeting the demand for training and/or updating for hospital staff or other institutions turning to Gaslini, directly or supported by public and/or private entities.
The demand for higher quality healthcare services from disadvantaged or developing countries has led to an increasing number of requests for collaboration agreements to enable access to broader resources and technologies and develop skills useful for adapting to societal changes.
These initiatives thus represent a development opportunity for the Institute, and it is necessary to create the organizational conditions to ensure its growth and improve success.
