About Us

What is Gaslini International and its Goals

Gaslini International is the organizational structure established by the General Directorate of the Giannina Gaslini Institute to promote Gaslini's role globally, support and facilitate exchanges among professionals, develop and strengthen relationships with other hospitals to contribute to the improvement of knowledge and skills of healthcare personnel belonging to institutions that request it, and to develop international cooperation and humanitarian aid programs.

Strategic Partnerships

These involve the network of collaborations with other excellent hospitals in Europe, Canada, and North America. Peer-to-peer exchange with the best institutions fosters the continuous growth of Gaslini's staff, the realization of collaborative projects in clinical research, and the continuous improvement of the quality of care. In this context, the exchange of young researchers is facilitated, as well as the organization of seminars and workshops, the presentation of research programs funded by public and private institutions, the biomedical industry, and the European Union.

International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Programs

They aim to contribute to strengthening healthcare systems in developing countries and post-war areas; they are mostly carried out with the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS), with which Gaslini has signed an agreement. Each intervention involves the drafting of a specific action plan aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of local healthcare personnel to offer care opportunities to children who would otherwise not be able to receive it.
